Hi!

Kathleen is here along with her Aunt Nicole and friend Stacey. We've had a good time! It snowed on Saturday evening as we ate our Shake Shack. But other than the snow, weather was horrible. wet and rainy all day.

I only have 4 more days in the big city! Can't believe it. But really ready to throw it down in the "burn" come Dec. 18th

Pictures to come later...

Seeing people from Auburn tonight actually, they are in town for IQLA, the event I participated in last January at the United Nations.

Looking forward to it.

Be home soon.

Its Fall!!

Hi!

Finally today was the first pretty day in 2 weekends!! There was a monsoon yesterday right as I was walking down 34th street to the AU bar, so typical, I was soaking wet!! But today made up for it because it was so pretty and a breezy 60 degrees! I met some new girls at dinner, they're from Georgia, Austin, Arizona, Croatia, and Germany. So, we decided to go to the park today.

Pretty Fall-ness!!

Update on Work: Models were in the house on tuesday, so that was an extra nice day at work! :) They laid off about 4 more people at work, so that wasn't fun. We've been working on post-market stuff, like cancels, and swaps and such. I listened in on a meeting that Kate, the Sr. Merchandiser, had to present the Summer 2010 Outlet line to the CEO of Nautica, that was interesting.

Hoping Dad is okay to be left home by himself so that Mom can come and visit! :)

25 days until Leigh, Allison, Allison and Ms. Barter come and I CANT WAIT!!!!!!!!

Halloween is coming this weekend...so Im sure there will be a freak show....i'll take good pictures, I promise.

At borders....

Webster's internet provider might be the worst ever. Me and Amanda(from UF) had to travel to Borders bookstore to get connected. Its freezing in here...it must be a tactic to keep us moochers out. It has almost worked....im on the verge of leaving.....brrrr

Didn't do much this weekend! Its been cold and rainy so it makes it difficult to go outside. Hopefully this week will prove to be better. Im hoping to start seeing some fall foilage soon. The all knowing internet said the peek would be the last 2 weeks of Oct and the First week of Nov. maybe ill have some good pictures soon.

Crazy busy week. Market opens on Sunday and we've been working until 10
almost every night. I sat in on the meeting with merchandising and design
tems on Monday where we went through every piece of the summer 2010 line
and "discussed" if there should be any changes or cancels. Afterwards, we
had to compile a list of all the changes called Notes and Changes and
update the line list(list of every piece in the season). On Weds. we had a
meeting with the sales team. Alot of the sale's team works from home or on
location so they all flew in for the meeting to see the 2010 line. Again
we has Notes and Changes to update. On Tuesday I helped the Sr.
Merchandiser put together 2 showrooms. Its been really hetic
but I've learned alot and really like it.

I saw 2 shows this weekend! Memphis and Rock of Ages. I loved Memphis and I liked Rock of Ages. Still fun though!

Here is a picture of some people from work. We had a company dinner and I got to go along with them!

Kate- Sr. Merchandiser is to the left of me and Jodie my boss is to the right of me.

Im Backkkkk!

Hey!

I've been busy. Sorry for the disappearing act. I went to visit Evan in DC this weekend.

So, to catch you up since last time.

I saw Hamlet on Broadway....half because I like that play and I've never seen it live and half because Jude Law stars in it....ok...maybe 3/4 Jude Law. But anyhow, it was fantastic! Jude(we're totally on a first name basis) was amazing and played Hamlet so comically it was perfect. Afterwards I waited around the stage door and got his picture and autograph. He thanked me for coming to see the show. I was just glad I could fit him in my busy schedule. haha yeah right.

Here are some pictures of my dorm room.....

I went to visit Evan this weekend in DC. Rode the Vamoose Bus and got there in pretty good time, only about 4 hours. We went to dinner Friday night with a couple of his friends from work and then on Saturday went to "Taste of Bethesda" a food festival in a town close to his. That's where the pictures are from. Sat. night we went to his friends house warming party and watched the game and ate a ton of food. I had a really good time!!!

Everyone is coming to visit soon. Can't wait!!!!

Ciao,
Tess

Next to Normal

This week I've been clearing out merchandise for our sample sale in November and getting the showroom ready for Market. We are starting to gear up for market, which is in October. All our customers come to the office and walk through our showrooms and decide what they are going to purchase for the season. This market is for the Summer 2010 line.

Luckily, I can watch TV on my computer through hulu.com but current shows usually come on the day after they air, but I couldn't resist waiting to watch Grey's Anatomy so I went to the TV room early to get a seat. After the premiere I was in the elevator and I was wearing my AU sweatshirt and a girl said 'War Eagle'. She graduated last May and moved here to work along with 2 other girls that also went to Auburn. That was exciting to meet some new AU folks! We had planned to go back to the 'Auburn Bar' today, but I've had a headache and decided to stay in.

I decided I wanted to go see a show and I didn't have anything planned for Friday night so I heard about 'rush tickets' which most theatres have. They hold about 25 tickets and sell them day of at the box office for 25-35 dollars. Some shows limit them for students but others are first come first serve. My friend Tommy had recommended 'Next to Normal' a new play that won Best Score at the Tonys this year. The catch with the rush tickets is that they sell them when the box office opens at 10am so you have to be in line before that. I got up early on Friday and was headed out by 9 am. I got there at about 915 and was 12th in line. I ended up getting a box seat ticket for 25 bucks!! The box seats are partial view but definitely worth 25 dollars. The show was really great! A little different then my favorites. It was about a mother trying to keep her family together while coping with some issues. I don't wanna give the plot away though! It was great though!

Pictures I took inside the theater and Times Square

Today I decided to go to the Union Square farmers market! Its apparently the largest in NYC. I got there and there were a ton of tents set up around Union Square but as I walked around realized the tents stretched along some side streets so I just walked up and down the streets. Union Square starts at 14th street and as I walked the market went all the way to 8th street. It was filled with Gyros, Italian sausage, Thai, Burritos, and Crepe stands along with artists selling they're work and clothing retailers. I decided to get lunch so I searched for the stand with the most people at it, that seems to be a good indication for quality. I got a chicken gyro and a lemonade. I was giant but really good! Then I found the actual farmers market section with all the fresh fruit and produce from around the city. They had a ton of stuff, pies, goat cheese, fresh milk, soaps, candles, honey, apple, flowers, seafood, meat....everything!

Then I went show shopping....but to no avail :(

Now, I'm just staying in for the night and catching up on some tv! and maybe a movie!

These are pictures from the Farmer's market in Union Square

This is a view from the roof of my building. Pretty neat, huh??
